Conditions That Support Effective Leadership

With funding from The Wallace Foundation, the Academy for Educational Development has developed a robust set of tools to help district and state leaders assess conditions that support or impede instructional leadership. The AED Decision Rubrics address four critical areas:

• Data informed decision making
• Financial resource allocation
• Governance structures
• Human resource allocation

This comprehensive program was pilot-tested with education stakeholders in four states and 20 districts. The program includes usage guides, definitions, annotated resources, rubrics with links to best practices and scoring guides. The site also provides access to the services of a group of experts on conditions change.
